Ed Sheeran Says Fat-Shaming Had a Terrible Effect of His Health, Here’s How It Changed Him

It is never right to call someone fat — well, it’s never actually good to comment about the weight of other people. This should be common sense, but others simply don’t understand that it’s wrong because it could ADVERSELY affect another person.

Take for example celebrities, who we imagine to be living a good life. While it is true that they may have a more glamorous life than most of us, we should also acknowledge that it comes with unavoidable judging and prying.

Stars are extremely vulnerable to criticisms and unsolicited comments about everything — from what they do to how they look. While some A-listers can manage to go about their daily routines without getting affected by these harsh reactions, others change their life.

Multi-Grammy awardee Ed Sheeran is not a stranger to receiving unwarranted advice and rude comments, especially about his weight. The singer admitted that he used to not feed on his insecurities until the public threw him these things, by which he started pondering about them.

The Thinking Out Loud hitmaker suddenly started comparing himself to his contemporaries, such as the One Direction members and Justin Bieber, and questioned the way his body looked. It indeed shattered Ed’s self-esteem but he didn’t let these things put an end to his determination.

The 28-year-old got the best of the situation after learning that people who always point out his weight had the same insecurities about themselves, so in order to feel good they take it out on others.

In 2017, Ed closed his Twitter account because of the many comments he kept reading about himself, saying that one negative reaction he read could affect how his day would go. It also didn’t help that he wasn’t a fan of how he looks — the reason he refused to appear in the music videos of his first four songs.

Now, the I Don’t Care singer should rub it in naysayers’ faces because he did it … that is, he lost close to 50 pounds after embarking on a fitness journey three years ago. After quitting smoking, Ed turned his attention to running, which he said was essential in clearing his lungs out.

Ed Sheeran loves running in the morning

His newfound love for running stems from the thought that he needed to remove all the toxins from his lungs and what better way to do this than to have a breath of fresh air in morning jogs that last for 45 minutes.
